How to meditate?
So, this Taoist meditation has two parts to it. I have already written an article on how to do the posture for the whole meditation and how to do the first part which is called the “the light washing method”. This part of the meditation focuses on healing and cleansing your body. If you do the full Taoist meditation with the second part, the first part “the light washing method” doesn’t need to be done a long time. You can go through it 7 times and then go to the second part, which is “Focus on the dantian”.
Focus on the dantian
For this second part, this is closer to what you are used to seeing in a classic meditation.
You are simply going to focus all of your intention on your lower dantian. So, remember, it’s about 2 cm or 1 inch below your belly button. You can visualize it by imagining you have this ball of light inside your lower belly.
Each time your thoughts start to wonder around, come back to your dantian. Don’t feel bad if you get lost in your thoughts, your goal is to notice them as soon as possible, so that you can refocus on your dantien.
